Friends of Leukaemia Patients Cork are an Independent registered Charity -Voluntary Group Established in 1985 by Imelda Reynolds.
Since then we have provided help to leukaemia patients and their carer’s. A Not-for-Profit Organisation governed by a board of Directors who are responsible for programme development standards and operations, we observe all the appropriate governance protocols and fully transparent with audited accounts.
Our Motto Is “We all need a helping hand” and 100% of donations made to our charity goes directly
into providing much needed support and practical help to leukaemia patients and their carers from
the Munster area.
We provide day to day practical support to patients and their loved ones if required:
Friends of Leukaemia Patient arrange a small grant which may be assessed with the patient's permission towards accommodation expenses whilst having to travel to a hospital for a bone marrow transplant because day to day life does not stop when you have leukaemia.
This facility is provided through charitable donation and fundraising initiatives held throughout the
year. We do not receive any government or state funding to assist us with our work.
Our Patrons Ger Power and Pascal Scott are invaluable to our organisation. We are truly grateful to everyone that has helped us over the years.
We are a totally voluntary organisation with no salaries paid out.
